Neoalgae Spirulina

What is Spirulina?

Spirulina is a microscopic blue-green algae in the shape of a perfect spiral coil that flourishes in warm climates and alkaline water. There are more than 15 species of Spirulina in the world. Most of them have been recognized for hundred years as the source of protein, vitamins, minerals, and carotenoids for human and animals. From compact space food for NASA’s astronauts till feed for fishes & cows.

Advantages of Spirulina?

Spirulina is the most nutritious and concentrated whole food known. It has proteins (55-80%), carbohydrate, carotenoids (e.g. beta-carotene), pigments (e.g. chlorophyll), vitamins (e.g. B12 and E), lipids, glycogen, GLA (Omega 6), ALA (Omega 3), and minerals (e.g. calcium, potassium, iron, and magnesium). Spirulina can regulate blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol. It can alleviate pain from imflammation and deliver antioxidant activity to ward of certain diseases. Spirulina can boost immunity, increase intelligence, reduce allergic reactions, reduce probability for cancer, and avoid infections (e.g. herpes, influenza, and HIV). Spirulina can also absorb heavy metals and toxics from the human bodies. Spirulina has been used to remove radio active substances. Furthermore, a test done by NASA in U.S.A. found Spirulina to be an excellent, compact space food for astronauts. Beside for human, Spirulina also has been used for animals. Spirulina can increase immunity for cattle. It can also improve the growth and color for fishes and shrimps.
